Can you flag individual line items as taxable or not?

In some states, we can tax hardware items, but not the labor itself. Is this something I can do with the current billing architecture?

This is currently not possible - you'd have to create separate invoices: one for the labor (without tax), and one for the hardware (with tax).

Can you upload or send me a (made up) example of how a typical invoice with both hardware and labor would look like?

Maybe if there was a way to have a subtotal line on the invoice and have a global setting where labor can be taxable or not. then on each product have the same option (taxable or not) then on the invoice have 2 subtotals with tax or not, if none of one or the other it only displays that one section.

This is one of the reason that we have not used this package, becasue we need this feature.
